Please read if you are new to Celestia
If you have just downloaded Celestia 1.6.1, then you urgently NEED TO READ THIS POST!!!!!!!
Here is an addon pack made for beginners in Celestia, to help make the database more complete. All of the addons were made by users like LukeCEL and Art Blos (from his Celestia Origin project), etc. , some of them have been modified, but most importantly, all credit goes to them. Most importantly, this addon adds notable objects (like VY Canis Majoris, the Helix Nebula, Cygnus X-1 and J1407 b) that are not present in the default Celestia 1.6.1 database. To download, simply move the entire folder into Celestia 1.6.1's extras folder. Enjoy!
